Please enjoy my new short video showing Perseids and the Milky Way above Gschnitztal / Tyrol rotoscoped (cleaned) for a undistracted Perseids viewing pleasure, thanks to removed Airplane Trails and Satellite flares. And in a non-rotoscoped version for comparison.
While rotoscoping frame per frame, one can judge exactly what was a Perseid streak and what not, however some Satellites (Tumblers etc) are really hard to spot.
Note that premium broadcasting companies like BBC or Terramater expect such footage cleaned for their nature documentaries, as they do with daylight footage anyway (e.g. contrails are always being removed). As well if your client want’s to use such footage on the Big Screen in Cinemas, it’s essential to rotoscope Airplane Lights and Satellites out.
Learn how to do this and much more at this years international “Astromaster IV” Workshop coming up in October on La Palma!
