Our next workshop (Sep. 26-30) will be on La Palma, Canary Islands, the stargazers and night sky photographers paradise and we have two new partners! See below!
The 5-day workshop includes middle to advanced lessons by my TWAN colleague and 2009 Lennart Nilson Priceholder Babak Tafreshi and me on all aspects of Earth & Sky photography (landscape astrophotography) and timelapse imaging and processing, will include 4 night imaging sessions, a visit to the observatory on the top of the island’s giant caldera, and site seeing tours, organized by AstroLaPalma and The World at Night (TWAN) in collaboration with the island’s tourism organization and government.
Two new industry partners just joined the program: Vixen Telecopes of Japan (we will have hand’s on with their great Polarie mount), and LRTimelapse, Gunther Wegner’s leading timelapse ramping and keyframing / processing software from Germany.
We also will have hands-on with equipment I regularly use for productions like Dynamic Perception and Emotimo rigs of my sponsor Kids-of-all-ages as well as practicing current timelapsing techniques with Nikon and Canon Cameras. Additionally I will also show the GBTimelapse workflow which is currently exclusive to Canon.
So participants get a good overall overview on current, practicable and affordable solutions for premium quality timelapse production not limited to one camera brand, as well as post processing using Adobe’s latest Adobe CC suite as well as Apple Software.
It seems we are going to have a great diversity of participants, so far several clients from the US, 4-5 from Europe, 4-5 from Japan, 2-3 from Iran (Iran, with it’s thousands of years old persian astronomy culture, is a country where Astrophotography is widely popular). There are good direct flights from Spain, Germany, and Netherlands to La Palma, and from many more countries to the neighboring island of Tenerife.
